ABOUT ELLEN MCKINNEY
I am a passionate and accomplished leader in the field of soft-goods design research and education. I have conducted and disseminated innovative and impactful studies on apparel design, sizing, fit, patternmaking, zero-waste, and functional design, both nationally and internationally.I also mentor and inspire interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate students to pursue creative and user-focused design solutions, and to communicate their findings effectively. I have obtained funding for and coordinated student travel to two events where they showcased their design projects. Additionally, I have collaborated with architecture firms as a client stakeholder on two new academic buildings, and developed and implemented course scheduling and curriculum updating processes for both undergraduate majors in the department.
