After serving for 15 years as a state trial court judge, I saw that litigation is stressful, often re-traumatizing, and expensive. Consequently, I came to believe that mediation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution could give people more control over the process and outcomes, while also giving them the opportunity to be heard. I left the bench in May, 2024, to pursue a fulltime career in alternative dispute resolution. In that role, I make sure that parties are able to tell their story, be heard, and are given some control over the resolution of their dispute. Respect for parties and their counsel are the key to my success helping people reach finality and closure.I am thrilled to be an ADR practitioner with Resolute Systems. Established in 1988 with offices throughout the country, Resolute has a national panel of 2,800 neutrals and administers thousands of cases each year nationally. Resolute was voted the #1 ADR Provider and Top Online ADR Resource in the nation in the National Law Journal for six consecutive years (20••••24), and also Corporate Counsel’s Annual Best of Survey (20••••21).
