Hi, I’m Ellen. She/her. I\'m the Research & Strategy Lead at Loomery. Discovery is my island. Strategy is what I do there, research is how I do it 🥥. Strongly held beliefs (there\'s only 3 and they\'ve aged pretty well)- I believe when we create things, it changes the future that is possible- I believe work should be enjoyable and engaging, and its outcome delightful to users, whoever they may be- And make good business sense, of course. Where I spend my time & energy at work: Product : I’m a Discovery specialist, I like to be dropped in the unknown, do my research, make and try stuff in the world, learn from users, reflect and iterate, and do it all again- I’m not afraid of the Big Bad Discovery Wolf & neither should you be! People : I’m a coach, I find ways to empower people of all disciplines to do the best work they can. I\'ve created and run Discovery Dojo 🥋 a course to get non-researchers comfortable with the uncertainty of Discovery- I love to bring out untapped potential and put people in positions to play bigger than they thought possible ‍. Profit : I believe creativity and pragmatism must go hand in hand in Product. Businesses need focus, discipline and tough decisions to continue to generate profit, invest in growth and support the people that make them up- Discovery is the very best time to exercise these muscles and make smart calls.*Finally, Problem Solving* 🥷: When you deal with People, Product and Profit - Problems will come knocking and that\'s all good, we simply make sure they don\'t overstay their welcome. 🥾 Where I spend my time & energy outside of work- Pattern cutting, tailoring, trail running or writing.
