ABOUT ELLA TRUDGEON

Hello! I\'m Ella. I\'m a multi-disciplinary creative, environmentalist, and community facilitator, and I make work about climate and social justice. I use art to communicate stories of liberation, collaboration, and change for people and animals. Currently, I\'m facilitating the Extinction Silences project with Bristol Museum and Rising Arts Agency, on the ecological and social possibilities of uncovering the interconnection between colonial histories and natural science. We\'re consulting with Bristol\'s marginalised communities, global indigenous peoples, and international conservation groups, to reimagine what museums can be. To bring concepts of coexistence deeper into my work, alongside working, I\'m currently studying a Geography degree. I love to learn (and unlearn) about our world and challenge the constructed boundaries between human and nonhuman, nature and society, and other binaries and hierarchies that are core to our social and ecological crises. How can we use art to connect communities, amplify silenced voices, and collectivise for liberation? How can we use art to decolonise environmentalism? How can we use art to amplify indigenous knowledges, secure food sovereignty, and protect biodiversity and people? These are some of the questions I am exploring within my life, studies, and work.I am always up for connecting and collaborating. Reach out to me!
