About Ella Thompson
I\'m a University of Florida journalism student, set to graduate in May 2025, specializing in magazine and feature writing. During my time at UF, I\'ve served as a copywriter and newsletter editor-in-chief for Florida Sea Grant, a coastal conservation nonprofit; a staff writer for Strike Magazine and Atrium Magazine; and a reporter and desk editor for the Independent Florida Alligator, UF\'s independent student newspaper. Over summer 2024, I interned with the Las Vegas Review-Journal in Las Vegas, Nevada covering higher education and the Clark County School District. After returning to Florida to finish my senior year, I served as the digital managing editor at The Alligator. In my final semester, I\'m taking over as the Editor-in-Chief of The Alligator, overseeing our coverage of the UF presidential search and the 2025 legislative session.
