ABOUT ELLA KOKOTSIS

What’s your passion project? We all have that “thing” that drives us to do what we feel passionately about. For me, that spark happened as a grad student, at my first G7 Summit in Naples, Italy, 1994. That first Summit gave me the chance to witness global governance unfold in person, in real time. That experience led me down a path of intellectual curiosity - to better understand what these high-level political events are all about, why they matter, and how their decisions impact our everyday lives. Three decades later, and with many G7 and G20 Summits under my belt, I’ve been privileged to participate in these high-level political events, understand them, write about them, and speak about them both online and in-person around the world. I recently retired from the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) after 23 years of service. My position at the IESO provided me with tremendous knowledge and experience about Ontario\'s energy transition and Canada’s net-zero pathways. I’ve coupled my energy industry knowledge, along with my international Summit work, to provide unique government and private-sector advisory and consulting services on climate change and sustainability, the green energy transition, net-zero pathways, political accountability, and global governance issues more broadly. Please DM me at any time to chat more about how I can support your consulting, research and advisory services, both in Canada and globally.
