About Ella Hazen
Hi! My name is Ella Hazen, and I\'m a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, pursuing a BSBA in Business Marketing and Management at Howard L. Hawks Hall (College of Business). I also earned my sales certification this past May from the Center for Sales Excellence Program. This program has provided me with practical sales skills and techniques, along with hands-on experience in real-world scenarios, role play competitions, and networking opportunities. This past summer, I was the hospitality and events intern at the Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Woodhouse. Throughout my internship, I coordinated, organized, and executed a professional golf tournament for the PGA Korn Ferry Tour located in Omaha, Nebraska. As the hospitality and events Intern, I gained hands-on experience managing and learning what it takes to plan and execute a professional golf tournament. I worked with vendors on food, beverage, and supply orders, helped set up and maintain 5 hospitality spaces, and collaborated with staff, sponsors, and volunteers to make sure everything ran smoothly. Through this, I strengthened my skills in organization, problem-solving, and teamwork while also learning how to adapt quickly when plans changed. I also gained experience in communication and attention to detail by creating menus, managing inventory, and coordinating sponsor and player needs. This role grew my passion for event and hospitality management while teaching me how to stay detail-oriented under pressure. It also gave me valuable experience in executing professional events from start to finish. Through my internship and academic experiences, I have developed a strong interest in marketing and hospitality/event management in the sports industry. These fields align with my goals of contributing to team-oriented, uplifting work cultures where I can continue to grow both professionally and personally. Post-graduation, I aim to pursue a career that combines my love for teamwork, relationship-building, and sports with opportunities for continuous learning and development in marketing and hospitality/event management.
