About Ella Crumpton
After graduating from the high school university program at DuPont Manual High School, I chose Centre College where I am currently studying chemistry with plans to attend medical school after receiving my bachelor\'s degree. I am passionate in public health, specifically from which I became interested in from studying abroad in Senegal and The Gambia where I took a course on environmental and global public health. I also have a passion for youth in which I have spent a large portion of my life with young children at home and in my employment. I volunteered as a camp counselor at the Center for Courageous kids, helping lead young kids with health complications and physical and mental disabilities. As a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority, I also work with our philanthropy, Girl Scouts, in which I work with young girls and help them develop confidence and become a leader in their community. I greatly emphasize volunteer work in which I have previously volunteered for my church and The Shamrock Pet Foundation. I currently volunteer at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, KY. I also volunteer as a tutor for ESL students in the Danville, KY school area. I have recent experience working in research in the chemistry department at Centre College, as well as clinical and translational research at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. I also have experience working in the food service sector and the educational sector at my college, but I hope to find myself a future job in the healthcare sector.I aspire to be a surgical and pediatric healthcare professional where my research and communication skills, passion for public health and youth, and clinical interests can contribute to effective patient care.
