ABOUT ELIZABETH MALONE
My overnight stay at Connecticut Children’s hospital when I was five years old was nothing short of spectacular; nurses showered me with grape popsicles and stuffed animals while tending to my broken arm, and I left the hospital bursting with excitement that my whole kindergarten class could sign the bright pink cast. The kindness and warmth of the hospital community I felt that night stuck with me, and I think of the experience fondly as I pursue a career in healthcare. I have obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience with minors in chemistry and biology and am starting medical school in summer 2025. Through a variety of leadership positions, community volunteering, and physician shadowing, I have acquired a strong understanding of the kind of doctor I aspire to be. My commitment to reproductive justice has been a catalyst for my involvement with Planned Parenthood at the university, state, and national levels, and I strive for a career in medicine in which patients feel empowered in making decisions about their own bodies.
