ABOUT ELIZABETH KOPKO

I’m a senior applied researcher focused on improving student outcomes in community colleges through rigorous, policy-relevant research. My work centers on developmental education reform, placement and assessment, corequisite models, and instructional and student-support innovations, often using randomized controlled trials and mixed-methods designs.I lead and contribute to large-scale, multi-partner studies with colleges, systems, and state agencies, translating complex evidence into actionable insights for practitioners, policymakers, and funders. I’m particularly interested in how reforms are implemented in practice and how institutional design and instructional decisions shape student progress.I value collaborative research, clear communication, and work that bridges methodological rigor with real-world application.
