SUPERVISORY AND HUMAN RESOURCES Direct the work of the Infrastructure and Content department, promoting teamwork & communication. Supervise 7 employees, 3 Librarians, 3 Library Technicians. Encourage & coordinate ongoing staff training, conference attendance & professional development to improve employee performance, and career advancement. Write employee evaluations & position descriptions.WORKFLOW MANAGEMENTOversee the operations of the department. Evaluate and analyze workflow to assure efficiency & economy of operations. Continuously review programs & tasks to identify problem areas. Plan & assign work based on overall mission, objectives, priorities, skills & manpower availability. Research & keep up to date on developments in Library Acquisitions, Cataloging, Discovery, & Collection Development in order to suggest improvements & efficiencies. PROJECT MANAGEMENTIdentify, coordinate and lead Library and Infrastructure & Content projects needed to fulfill the Library’s mission. LIBRARY LEADERSHIPAs part of the Library’s Senior Staff formulate the Library’s Mission, Vision & Strategic Plan. Evaluate challenges & opportunities, plan for the future, & address current needs, assisting the Library Director in coordinating the work of the Library’s various departments. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENTOversee the library acquisition budget & purchasing procedures to efficiently manage budgets as member of the Library’s Budget Team. Serve as Accounting Officer (AO)/ Contracting officer (CO) and Mission Resource Manager (MRM) in the Deputy Director’s absence.COLLECTION DEVELOPMENTServe as Collection Development Librarian. Responsible for coordinating collection development and weeding decisions, as well as updates to the Library’s Collection Development Policy. Contact point for all donations to the Library, evaluating and making recommendations to the Library Director.

ABOUT ELIZABETH GEESEY HOLMES
When I was ten I cataloged my collection of books using index cards and my Mom’s old manual typewriter. Every book had an Author, Title and Subject card filed in alphabetical order. I wanted to know what books I had and to remember who I had lent them to. I was organized, diligent, curious, and dedicated to sharing my love of reading and learning. Now I put these characteristics to work as a Librarian. The skills and tools I use are more advanced but my goal remains selecting, acquiring, and organizing information resources so that I can connect people to the information they need. I am a member of our Research & Instruction department working with and instructing patrons on finding and evaluating resources. I also lead the Library\'s Assessment Team and Collection Development Teams and serve as the liaison to our International Law program. I am always interested in discussing how to connect information with those who need it.
