About Elizabeth Cafferty

I have dedicated my career to advancing international security, global health, international development, and human rights issues by creating and expanding strategic partnerships, building multistakeholder coalitions, developing international communications campaigns, and managing crisis communications. My advisory experience spans strategic C-level work with the UN, governments, academia, think tanks, funders, and NGOs to preparation of persuasive documents for the UN, the US Congress and Administration, and senior government officials around the world. I have developed policy positions and provided policy analysis and advice to the UN Security Council and UN Under-Secretary-Generals, Congress and the White House, the UK Parliament, and the European Union as well as to business and nonprofit leaders around the world. I enjoy speaking at events and being an advocate for multilateralism, international crisis response, women’s rights, post-conflict reconstruction, etc. Examples of my recent career highlights include: Directing policy, communications, multilateral partnerships, fundraising, research, and advocacy for human rights, gender equality, sex trafficking, global health, inclusive disaster response, and security sector reform. Being recruited to lead an NGO startup, become gender advisor of the UN’s World Humanitarian Summit and of the Department of Peace Operations, and open UN Women’s Office in Washington, DC. Working globally with leaders, governments, and teams across North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, LATAM, and APAC to raise funding and affect policy discourse and decision making. Strengthening the presence and profile of organizations with stakeholders such as UN and EU agencies and member states and Washington, DC and NY-based international actors. Partnering with governments, multilaterals, think tanks, media, private sector, academia, and NGOs to influence public policy, discourse, and legislation through high-visibility engagements. Speaking engagements in the U.S, U.K, Switzerland, Jordan, the Philippines, Ethiopia, Belgium, Ireland, and Namibia.    Designed and led strategies to enhance GPE\'s influence within UN processes and resolutions. • Represented GPE in high-stakes discussions, including 2025\'s Financing for Development outcome document and Security Council open debates. • Co-led the successful launch of GPE\'s $5B Replenishment at the opening of the 2025 General Assembly. • Facilitated CEO and Chair\'s engagements with senior UN leadership to elevate GPE\'s priorities and showcase its impact on key global issues, from debt swaps to increasing remote learning in Ukraine.
