ABOUT ELIZABETH ROWE

I am a civil engineer who is passionate about stormwater management and low impact development. My interest has always been improving infrastructure in more sustainable ways in order to mitigate the impact of climate change. In my current role of project engineer in the water group, I work on various linear infrastructure projects for different municipalities and regions in Southern Ontario. Working as part of design teams, my tasks have included sewer and watermain design and preparing technical specifications, engineering drawings, cost estimates. I have also performed field investigations assessing the conditions of municipal infrastructure and been responsible for assembling technical reports for the clients. During graduate school, my research focused on designing infiltration trenches and bioretention cells using an analytical probabilistic approach as opposed to designing for a specified rainfall quantity. My studies have provided me with broad proficiency in the use of civil engineering methods, tools, software packages and techniques. Alongside this, I have developed sound communication skills while delivering presentations and working as a teaching assistant in the capstone project course. As such, I am confident that I can make an instant impact in engineering roles. I embrace challenges and am always excited to learn more in the realm of water resources and civil engineering. I look forward to professional development and working on interesting and unique projects. I am a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
