About Elizabeth Armijo
I am a seasoned advocacy leader with more than two decades of experience advancing public policy, building grassroots power, and driving communications strategies that elevate complex issues and humanize movements. As the National Director of Legislative Advocacy at Compassion & Choices, I lead legislative campaigns nationwide to expand and protect access to the full range of end-of-life options, including medical aid in dying. My work bridges policy, equity, and public engagement — ensuring that people can chart their own end-of-life journey with dignity, compassion, and autonomy.Throughout my career, I’ve successfully managed multi-state campaigns, coached and empowered field teams, and developed strategic relationships with lawmakers, coalitions, and community partners. I’ve also worked extensively in marketing, communications, and program development — leveraging media, storytelling, and public education to shift culture and build movements. From grassroots organizing to strategic policy advocacy, I bring a deep commitment to justice, equity, and systems change. At the core of my work is a belief that people’s voices — especially those historically left out of the conversation — must shape the policies that affect their lives. I\'m passionate about transforming how we talk about death and dying, and ensuring that everyone has access to the information and options they need to make informed choices at life’s end.
