ABOUT ELIZABETH LEE

I qualified as a Solicitor in 2007 after training with another regional firm spending time working across their Norwich and London offices and joined the Commercial Property Team at Birketts in June 2010. I now lead our Real Estate Finance Team in the Norwich office. The team primarily acts for banks and lenders in relation to their property work. I also have experience in a wide range of commercial property matters including the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold property and a specialism in secured lending.My property finance work includes advising major high street lenders, challenger banks and private funders on facilities secured against investment properties and development sites varying from small business loans to multi-million pound facilities. This involves undertaking due diligence on property assets and the preparation and negotiation of loan and security documentation. I also act for property investor clients in funding their acquisitions and refinancing their portfolios. My team also has extensive experience in bridging finance and are main panel lawyers for a number of specialist lenders.My team works closely with our Banking Team and Corporate Team and acts for a number of different lenders on panel appointments to provide acquisition or development finance. This often involves leading teams to (re)finance existing portfolios including commercial, semi commercial and residential properties. Our familiarity with lender’s requirements means that we are also well placed to assist borrowers who wish to proceed quickly.Over the last 7 years I have developed particular experience in managing a team acting on a high volume, fast turnover basis for lenders where excellent service and clear practical advice is key.
