   ELIZABETH WINTHROP is the author of over sixty works of fiction for all ages. Under her other name, Elizabeth Winthrop Alsop, she recently published a short ebook memoir entitled DON\'T KNOCK UNLESS YOU\'RE BLEEDING, Growing Up in Cold War Washington. Her memoir about her parents\' love affair during World War II will be published by Regal House Publishing under the title DAUGHTER OF SPIES: Wartime Secrets, Family Lies in 2022.Ms. Winthrop is best known for her classic middle-grade novels, THE CASTLE IN THE ATTIC and THE BATTLE FOR THE CASTLE. Her most recent historical novel, COUNTING ON GRACE has been chosen as a Notable Book of the Year by the American Library Association, the National Council of Social Studies, the International Reading Association and the Children’s Book Council and has been nominated for state book awards in Vermont, Virginia, Kentucky, Kansas, Missouri, Hawaii and Arizona.Her popular picture books, illustrated by highly acclaimed artists, include DUMPY LA RUE, SHOES, MAGGIE AND THE MONSTER, DOG SHOW, SQUASHED IN THE MIDDLE and most recently, MAIA AND THE MONSTER BABY.Ms. Winthrop\'s short story,\"The Golden Darters\", has been widely anthologized after inclusion in the 1992 edition of The Best American Short Stories, edited by Robert Stone and was recently read on Selected Shorts by renowned actor, Ann Dowd.
