Responsibilities include- Calendar Management: Maintain and coordinate attorney calendars- Client Intake & Communication: Handle intake calls and assist with preliminary case assessments and scheduling of client follow-ups- Pleadings Preparation: Prepare shells for pleadings and responsive documents in accordance with local rules and court formatting requirements- Legal Research & Cite Checking: Conduct legal research and perform citation checks to ensure accuracy and proper formatting of legal filings. Pulling cases and authorities from Westlaw- Hearing & Trial Preparation: Prepare hearing notebooks, indexes, trial binders, and mediation materials; assist with organizing exhibits and witness lists- Exhibit Presentation: Trained in OnCue trial software to support attorneys during trial. Assist attorneys in uploading and formatting exhibits per court-specific electronic filing guidelines- Discovery & Document Management: Draft, organize, and maintain discovery production logs; create detailed account summaries using client and third-party produced documents. Bates labeling and redacting documents for production- Subpoena & Document Tracking: Track and maintain subpoena logs; monitor incoming and outgoing subpoenaed records and ensure timely compliance. Run initial review of documents create production log for attorney review- Deposition Preparation & Summaries: Prepare deposition summaries and assist with witness prep materials. Coordinate and schedule depositions with vendor- Medical Summaries: Review and analyze medical records for personal injury cases, prepare detailed medical summaries to assist attorney in case evaluation- Document Review & Flagging: Run initial review of large volumes of documents, flagging relevant materials based on attorney-defined criteria.
