About Elizabeth Schimper

I am a Junior at the Grand Valley State University, double majoring in Finance and Marketing with a minor in Philosophy. I’m passionate about pursuing a career in Finance and exploring how marketing and ethical thinking intersect with financial strategy.Born and raised in South Africa, I’ve also lived in the Czech Republic and called Michigan home for six years. These diverse experiences have given me a deep appreciation for different cultures and perspectives, and they’ve shaped my open-minded, globally aware approach to life and business.At GVSU, I’ve become actively involved in campus life. I’m a proud member of Delta Zeta and Delta Sigma Pi and currently serve as the DEI chair for Delta Zeta (2026). After serving on the executive board as Vice President of Philanthropy. Through this role, I’ve had the opportunity to plan and lead impactful events supporting organizations like the Starkey Hearing Foundation and local communities such as Sheldon Meadows Nursing Home. I regularly volunteer at the YWCA, Gilda’s Club, and other nonprofits, where I contribute both my time and organizational skills.Outside of school, I love to travel, read, and try new things. I’m always seeking opportunities to grow and challenge myself. I’ve also attended various philosophy speaker events, deepening my interest in ethics and critical thinking.
