Acts as adviser to City Councilor by assisting and facilitating effective short and long-term decision making. Attends and represents the Councilor in her absence at all governmental, civic associations, and community events or meetings; relays information to the public on her behalf. Assumes lead role in streamlining communication with City of Boston governmental departments in policy and constituent service matters. Assists the Councilor with the planning, analysis, development, and implementation of policies and regulation initiatives at her direction. Takes lead on all major policies matters within the office and City Council. Responsible for organizing participants of hearings, working sessions, and communication with administration. Develops hearing orders, ordinances, fact sheets, etc. on all policy related issues. Develops and maintains an overarching communications plan that aligns with the Councilor’s goals for the district. Works with relevant community and administration stakeholders to coordinate reporting of data and assessment sought by the Councilor.
