ABOUT ELIZABETH JONES

I’m a Master of Urban Planning candidate at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design focused on how housing policy and climate resiliency can shape more just and sustainable cities.Currently, I work as a Research Assistant at the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies, where I support research on housing affordability, rental market trends, and the social and economic forces that shape access to stable, climate-resilient housing across the U.S.My academic and professional interests sit at the intersection of housing, public policy, and community-centered planning. Previously, I worked at Huron Consulting in higher education strategy, managing large-scale data collection and analysis for universities to make informed campus planning decisions. I’ve also held planning and policy roles with MAPC, the Town of Brookline, and Urban Impact Inc, where I combined GIS mapping, census research, and community engagement to support economic development and equity initiatives.
