ABOUT ELIZABETH HAASE

I am a psychiatrist with additional training in medical psychiatry and psychoanalysis who has a deep passion for nature. After twenty years in private practice affiliated with the Columbia University Medical Center, I relocated to Northern Nevada to lead outpatient behavioral health for Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center and join the voluntary faculty at UNR SOM. My research interest is in the mental health impacts of climate change, leading to the foundation of the Climate Psychiatry Alliance and leadership of the Climate Committee for the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry. Past affiliations have included The Helix Center, The Association for Psychoanalytic Medicine, Riverdale Nature Preservancy, Chinese American Psychoanalytic Alliance, and other professional organizations. I write about and work on projects to provide the resilience and other emotional skills necessary for maximal mitigation and adaptation to climate change, including the film \"And Then the Climate Changed\", with Jessica Haller and Jon Felix.
