I started my career as a chemical plant engineer with my degree from Purdue University in the oil & gas, chemical and then high-tech industries. I still do technical work as I love it too much to give up. We also as Thrival direct source N95 and PPE from our three global direct buyers.After the birth of my first child, had the epiphany that ‘You Can’t Engineer Human’ & immersed myself into how to combine all the technological and process solutions I learned in college with: · Brain science and psychology· Business performance and systems auditing· Organizational culture & change management· Growth/scale-up/M&A models· Adult learning behaviors I\'ve spent more than 25 years sharing what I’ve learned with organization leaders. I realized that you cannot neglect the human side of engineering successful companies. From the plant floor to the top floor, I’ve lived in a hard hat and steel toe boots building teams and high performance in the field and spent just as much time working with boards and C-level management on change management and business performance initiatives. I\'ve been honored to work with everyone from Fortune 500 companies and VC/PE firms to government agencies, NPOs and the U.S. Military. I now routinely keynote public & private events and do media on these topics, sharing the story of my epiphany with my first child and realizing, after many failed ( & humorous) attempts, “You can’t engineer human!” I am WYSIWIG – what you see is what you get – & love solving pervasive organizational problems permanently. Given I ‘grew up’ as a plant engineer, I have a fun sense of humor (so I’ve been told) and bring that humorous perspective to all my work. I hated going to training & now love working with organizations to create & deliver professional development and compliance ‘training that does not suck’ live, online or virtual 24/7!When not working, I can be found fishing, kayaking, & birding anywhere near the ocean with friends & fam!
