In my role at Rhode Island Humanities, I focus on enhancing civic health through grantmaking, partnerships, and humanities initiatives. I co-authored a pivotal report that led to the state\'s first Civic Health Index, demonstrating the impact of cultural engagement on community well-being. My work involves building strategic partnerships and initiatives that unite diverse stakeholders in promoting public history, cultural heritage, civic education and community engagement.I work with a staff of 7 and a 22-member board of directors.I oversee the awarding of about 45 grants each year.I network with public humanities professionals in the nationwide network of humanities councils.I work with Rhode Island\'s Congressional Delegation to advance support for the National Endowment of the HumanitiesI work with State elected leaders to ensure ongoing support for Rhode Island\'s cultural organizations.
