ABOUT ELIZABETH DESMOND
My name is Lizzy and I am currently a Registered Nurse for Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston MA. I also have my Registered Nursing License for the state of California and Louisiana. I have a diverse background in finance, operations, administration, and healthcare. I have had the pleasure of working with a large number of patients including the vulnerable population of homelessness and patients from all types of backgrounds such as telemetry, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Urology, Cardiology, Trauma, and Orthopedics, post-stroke unit, just to name a few on the floor. As a nurse on a trauma floor and caring for high acuity patients, I have been trained to monitor them closely for changes (sepsis, shock, PE, DVT, atelectasis) in their conditions and advocate for them as their needs arise. We enhance our patients\' status to return to baseline function or improve using a multi-modal approach and communicating with all interdisciplinary departments such as our physical therapy, occupational therapy, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Work, and case management. This ensures that the patient has the safest and healthiest option for discharge and treatment. I currently work in New Orleans with a 6:1 staffing ratio, as well as a PRN school RN in the public and private schools here in New Orleans.
