ABOUT ELIZABETH CLEMANTS

Elizabeth Clemants is the Founder and Executive Director of Hidden Water, a restorative justice initiative focused on individual and family healing from sexual harm. She brings a unique blend of expertise to this work, drawing from her experiences as a social worker, court/community mediator, and a practitioner of northern shamanic traditions. With decades of experience in individual and family work, Elizabeth has integrated these diverse disciplines to create a groundbreaking approach. This innovative intervention fosters profound individual healing, which opens the door to relational repair, and conflict resolution within family systems affected by past sexual harm.Elizabeth has a Bachelor\'s in Social Work from Iowa State University (\'93). Upon returning from the Peace Corps (\'93-\'96), she moved to New York City and earned a Master\'s in Social Work with a Minor in Law from Columbia University (\'98). Elizabeth has dedicated her career to conflict resolution, teaching and healing. She opened her private practice, Planning Change, in 2004 where she continues to work with individuals, families, and organizations. She has been an adjunct professor at Fordham Law School since 2005, and a conflict resolution trainer for the New York State Unified Court System since was born and raised in Edina, MN, USA, and still considers herself a Minnesotan. She lives happily in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband, three children, and one big dog. Many Sundays they can be found cheering for the MN Vikings to finally win the Super Bowl.
