About Elizabeth Clark

I\'ve spent my career advancing nonprofits and mission-driven for-profits as well as those they serve - removing de facto barriers to opportunity, creating new ways for organizations to be successful, and measurably increasing meaningful access to opportunity for individuals, students, families, and communities. Currently I work with visionary leaders in public education, philanthropy, and the private sector as Chief Development Officer of The Endowment Project. The Endowment Project is transforming what opportunity looks like for public high schools, creating philanthropic infrastructure supporting what each school community - students, alumni, leadership, and stakeholders - values. We\'re harnessing the power of alumni loyalty to fuel community-driven transformations - at scale. I left college (St. John\'s-MD) to write policy for the history-making campaign of L. Douglas Wilder, the nation\'s first elected Black governor (VA), and served in his administration in various roles including Governor\'s Assistant for Clemency and Editor of Commonwealth Publications. It was an extraordinary campaign & administration - high points of my time include developing important policy research to prevent youth recidivism, securing a pardon for a wrongly convicted incarcerated person resulting in his release from prison, and working events with global impact, such as African Heads of State. Joined Bill Royall at his then-tiny outfit, Royall & Company (now EAB), which we built to be the dominant player in higher education enrollment management and sold to private equity in 2008 (it has since recapitalized twice, most recently for $1.6B). Working alongside visionary leaders in higher education, we changed the shape of enrollment management in the US, developing innovative digital products now adopted across the industry, and expanded access for millions of underserved students - while making hundreds of colleges and universities even more successful in advancing their missions. I serve on a limited number of boards in advisory and developmental roles. I\'m always interested in talented people working toward access to opportunity, particularly those serving underserved communities.
