ABOUT ELIZABETH C. MOURAO

Elizabeth C. Mourao has built an amazing track record of accomplishment in Family Law and the Toronto community.Recognized and voted on by her peers over the years as among the Best Lawyers in the area of Family Law, Elizabeth – who speaks and writes fluent Portuguese – has been interviewed on OMNI television newscasts and in ethnic print media discussing topical family law matters. She also received awards of excellence for her contributions as a columnist at the Portuguese Sun newspaper when she was writing regularly for the paper. In 2024 Elizabeth was the recipient of the Federation of Portuguese and Canadian Business and Professionals Professional Excellence Award. But probably of greater interest to her clients is Elizabeth’s ability to balance the importance of handling family law matters in a sensitive, understanding manner while remaining attuned to representing clients in court when doing so becomes appropriate and necessary.Elizabeth’s professional accomplishments are as impressive as her work for clients and in the community.Elizabeth has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal. She has also successfully represented clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings.She is a past member of the Family Law Executive for the province of Ontario and an editor of the sections official newsletter, Matrimonial Affairs. Elizabeth also held a two year term as Chair of the Ontario Bar Association\'s JUST, publication.
