ABOUT ELIZABETH ADAMSON

I am a psychotherapist supporting individuals, young people, and professionals with stress, burnout, emotional regulation, and psychological wellbeing. My work is grounded in nervous system regulation, helping people move out of survival mode and into sustainable performance, resilience, and self-trust.I tailor therapy to each individual’s needs, drawing on person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and creative approaches such as sand tray therapy. This integrative, trauma-informed approach supports clients experiencing overwhelm, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, low confidence, and stress-related difficulties.Alongside my clinical practice, I work as a therapeutic support worker with young people who have complex emotional and behavioural needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). My focus is on emotional safety, nervous system stabilisation, and practical skill development, supporting young people to regulate emotions, build resilience, and gradually reintegrate into education and daily life.I also have experience within education settings as a Peer Tutor, providing one-to-one and group support for children and young people affected by trauma, bereavement, domestic violence, and additional learning needs. This work reinforced my belief that behaviour is communication and that regulation must come before learning, performance, or change.Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I held a regional Human Resources management role, overseeing customer service, payroll administration, auditing, and operational leadership across multiple sites within a large retail organisation. Supporting large teams gave me direct insight into workplace stress, burnout, performance pressure, and employee wellbeing. This background informs Wired for Better — a psychology-led, mind–body resilience programme designed to support stress management, burnout prevention, nervous system regulation, focus, and emotional resilience. Wired for Better integrates neuroscience, practical tools, and psychoeducation to create change that lasts beyond motivation alone.Let’s connectI enjoy connecting with professionals, organisations, educators, and wellbeing leaders interested in mental health, nervous system regulation, resilience, and sustainable performance.
