ABOUT ELIZABETH GREENBERG
The courses I took in my sophomore year of college on Global Displacement and Insurgent Mobilities fostered my deep passion for learning about the complexities of global movement. I’ve dedicated my time to exploring the lived experiences of displaced populations, particularly those impacted by war and colonial legacies. My journey has taken me across the world, from an internship in the South of France where I learned about the impact of the war in Ukraine in France, to Cameroon where I explored the effects of France’s colonial legacy on modernization and development. Through my internship with the Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition, I gained firsthand experience working with immigrant communities, providing emergency support, and advocating for their rights. Currently, I am conducting my senior honors thesis on post-colonial migration from Cameroon to Paris, focusing on how historical legacies continue to shape migration patterns today. These academic and field experiences have solidified my desire to continue working with immigrant populations and to learn more about their resettlement and integration challenges. Post-grad, I plan to continue building my understanding of non-profit operations to support vulnerable populations.
