Miami-Dade County, Florida is the most populous county in the southeastern United States.I was appointed by the Mayor to direct a newly created office tasked with transforming the Community Development Division in order to promote structure, engagement, and execution. As such, I head an organization of 24 managers and staff guiding federal, state, and local funding to real estate and economic development activities; short- and long-term strategic planning; oversight of HUD Community Planning & Development programs; and orchestration of requests for applications (RFA). Additionally, I manage planning and reporting, market analysis, and change management, and produce housing-specific training resources for internal staff and external stakeholders. Key achievements:Architecting a roadmap that strengthened community development planning cycles, organization dynamics, and service from inception to production. Sharpening enterprise accountability, hierarchy, processes, collaboration, and data-driven decisions.Constructing and executing the 20••••29 HUD Consolidated Plan citizen participation strategy, for which I presented to and secured Mayoral approval. To this end, I led the research, training, policy, and deployment strategy for an $18M annual allocation.
