About Elise Lau

I received a B.S. in Molecular Environmental Biology from UC Berkeley, Rausser College of Natural Resources. I am currently a medical assistant at California Skin Institute as well as an intern at United World Schools USA, an organization that provides education to children in remote communities. I have a strong interest in the intersection of health, environment, and social justice, and I am passionate about improving access to quality health care and education for underserved populations. In my previous roles as a clinical care coordinator at a digital sleep clinic, and as a medical scribe and clinical assistant at an internal medicine practice, I gained valuable skills in patient support, patient scheduling, medical terminology, and electronic medical records. I collaborated with practitioners and patients to facilitate patient intake and transition, coordinate patient care, and document medical histories and visits. I also developed a strong understanding of laboratory protocols and techniques through hands-on work as a student lab assistant at Berkeley Lab and a clinical laboratory assistant at Curative Inc.
