About Elise Kormos
I am a recent UCSB graduate, where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychological and Brain Sciences, and minors in Anthropology and Poverty, Inequality & Social Justice. I hope to pursue a Master of Public Health with a focus on Global Health. My interdisciplinary background and research experience equip me to critically examine the structural and social determinants of health and contribute to public health initiatives that prioritize equity, community engagement, and culturally informed care. I hope to work with an organization dedicated to reducing health disparities and improving healthcare access for marginalized communities through research, advocacy, and policy-driven solutions.

The Population Health Center is dedicated to improving health outcomes and well-being through research-based interventions, with a particular focus on promoting equitable access to healthcare for vulnerable populations. As an intern, I have contributed to literature reviews exploring a range of topics including Women\'s Health Services and Community Health Work. These projects seek to better understand the structural inequities and systemic barriers to healthcare and ultimately inform strategies to improve health outcomes for individuals from marginalized communities both inside and outside of the hospital.
