   As the Design Lead for the Flight Systems team at Purdue Orbital, a student-led organization at Purdue University, I am responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of systems crucial to our project\'s success. Our team’s objective is to launch a student-built rocket into orbit using a launch structure attached to a high-altitude balloon. My primary role involves designing mechanisms to detach the balloon and release the rope after the rocket is launched.This position has provided me with invaluable practical experience, allowing me to apply theoretical knowledge from my coursework to real-world projects. Additionally, it has enhanced my skills in leadership and project management. I am responsible for assigning tasks, managing the budget, and ensuring that our team meets deadlines consistently.In April 2024, I had the opportunity to travel to the Mojave Desert with fellow Design Leads to test our designs. This experience was instrumental in developing my abilities in teamwork, motivation, and critical thinking under dynamic conditions.I am eager to continue advancing my skills and gaining further experience in both hands-on engineering and leadership throughout my education at Purdue University.
