About Elis Anderson

I am a journalist and businesswoman born in Brazil and a New Yorker by heart. I have expertise in Media Relations, Public Relations, Media Crisis Management, Marketing, and Podcasting. I’m also the author of the coloring book Habitat - Care and Color (available on Amazon). I have been living in New York for the past eight years and founded and co-founded a few ventures focusing on black and Brown Women, such as the first black Brazilian women collective in the US - Kilomba Collective, in partnership with four other black Brazilian women. I’m currently focused on three of my ventures: a Video Podcast, Pretas em NY, which is hosted by three black women and showcases stories of other black immigrant women living in NY; Pretas Network, which is a platform that promotes black and brown female entrepreneurship and income generation; and my recent release Habitat - Care & Color, a platform that helps girls and women of color to build a Habitat of self-love, empowerment, and confidence through products and services focused in physical and mental health. Before focusing on my ventures, I was the Global Head of Marketing of luxury lifestyle brands produced in Brazil, such as Zeferino and the French brand Twins for Peace, for four years. In Brazil, I was a senior analyst in Media Relations and Public Relations of public and corporate accounts. I also co-authored the book report, “Silence is an accomplice. Violence against women is a crime” - that reported cases of women in a situation of violence in Brazil in 2010. And I was part of the creation of the “Selo Diversidade da Cidade the São Paulo,\" which promotes and certifies diversity in the workplace.
