ABOUT ELISABETTA BONFANTI
After graduation in Drug Biotechnology, in 2010, I joined as research fellow the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology of Purinergic Transmission direct by Prof. Maria Pia Abbracchio at the department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences. In 2011, I obtained a doctoral fellowship in the Graduate School of Pharmacological Sciences (XXVI cycle). During these 3 years of my doctorate, I worked very hard and very fruitfully on the characterization of GPR17 in the maturation of oligodendrocyte precursor cells and myelination. In January 2014, I successfully discussed my PhD Thesis entitled “Time-dependent and critical role of the GPR17 receptor during oligodendrocyte differentiation: implications for the development of new remyelination strategies”. After my PhD, I continued to work in the same lab supported first by a fellowship from the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, and then by a fellowship from the Italian Society of Pharmacology and by Fondazione Umberto Veronesi. In September 2019, after almost 10 years of pre-clinical research, I decided to leave Academy and to try to build a new professional experience within clinical research. For this reason in November 2019, I started a master in Data Management for Clinical Research at University of Milan-Bicocca. This post-graduate course taught me how to take my first steps within the clinical field. I gained both theoretical and practical knowledge concerning data management, regulatory aspects and computerized system used in clinical trials.Concomitantly, in January 2020 I started working as clinical project manager at Centro Cardiologico Monzino in Milan. I am involved in several observational studies concerning cardiovascular diseases. Thanks to this experience I concretely applied what I learnt with master course. For my future I\'d like to pursue my professional experience within clinical research field. I\'m really interested in all aspects of electronic data capture systems.
