About Elisabeth Yorns
I’m an Environmental Science graduate committed to helping people live in a healthier, more conscious relationship with the planet. During my time at Skidmore, I built a foundation in environmental justice, circular economy solutions, and marine science through both coursework and hands-on research.This past summer, I expanded my Senior Capstone research on textile waste into a funded campus sustainability initiative. Through project management, stakeholder collaboration, and systems thinking, I strengthened Skidmore’s Exchange Closet to better support the college’s circularity and reuse goals. The work deepened my interest in how communities, infrastructures, and behaviors intersect to drive sustainable change.Across roles, from field-based marine research to community-centered EJ work to redesigning campus programs, I’ve found that I thrive when I’m translating complex issues into practical strategies and bringing people together around shared environmental goals.I’m excited to contribute to mission-driven organizations such as climate innovation startups, EJ nonprofits, and sustainability-focused companies. My goal is to support teams building solutions that are both ambitious and achievable, and that move us toward a more just, circular, and resilient future.
