About Elisabeth Jones

I am a Senior Product Marketing Manager at Microsoft, where I have been working as an FTE since 2021, and before that, as a consultant since 2015. I have a PhD in Information Science from the University of Washington, where I also taught and researched for seven years.My current focus is on creating and executing commercial marketing strategies that drive customer satisfaction, retention, and growth for Microsoft 365, the world\'s leading productivity suite. Since 2023 I have been leading marketing work related to Microsoft\'s negotiations with the European Commission regarding its inclusion of Teams in Microsoft 365 suites. I also lead marketing strategy for on-premises Office and entry-level Office 365 suites, and help customers understand the value of completing their transition to the cloud (especially when facing end of support!). Previously, I have led marketing strategy for Microsoft 365 data residency, accessibility, and domain unification (a.k.a. the transition to cloud.microsoft). I excel at untangling thorny problems, leading broad cross-functional teams from within, and maintaining a total focus on customer needs throughout.

   Lead inbound product marketing for Microsoft 365 Copilot in U.S. Government clouds (GCC, GCC High, DoD), shaping positioning and messaging that translate Copilot’s capabilities into clear, credible value for federal, defense, and public sector customers- Partner with engineering and compliance teams to bring Copilot innovations to government audiences, developing launch narratives, messaging frameworks, and roadmap communications tailored to highly regulated cloud environments- Drive alignment on product storytelling across product, engineering, and field stakeholders, ensuring new Copilot capabilities for government are communicated with clarity, accuracy, and readiness for customer and seller conversations- Produce competitive insights and messaging assets for Microsoft’s public sector organization, equipping sellers with clear narratives and content that position Copilot for mission‑critical government scenarios.
