ABOUT ELISABETH COLLIER

I am an experienced and driven educational leader with a passion for curriculum design and assessment strategy, with a specialism in English and the performing arts. As Lead in Assessment and Curriculum and Head of Drama at St. Mary’s School, I am responsible for developing and implementing assessment and curriculum strategies that ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the Senior School.My role includes training teaching staff in effective assessment and curriculum practices, creating and managing assessment policies and cycles, overseeing curriculum progression across subjects and year groups, and providing line management to support professional growth. I also lead the Drama curriculum and direct the school’s dramatic arts programme, blending academic depth with creative expression.I bring a broad understanding of both academic and creative disciplines and I approach education through a research-informed and inclusive lens, currently pursuing a Master’s in Education at UCL, further developing my expertise in curriculum leadership and assessment innovation.Previous roles included an Associate SLT Position, Head of House and Head of the English Department at King Edward VI Grammar School - recently nominated the top secondary school in England by the Daily Telegraph league table. I also serve as an examiner for Pearson, contributing to national assessment standards.My doctoral thesis considered African American Literature and Women’s Writing.
