Serve as Chief Operating Officer. Oversee visitor services, fiscal management, operations, and facilities for Museum of Indian Arts & Culture in the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, including the Museum, Lab of Anthropology located in the NRHP building designed by John Gaw Meem, the Museum Hill Cafe, and Center for New Mexico Archaeology, as well as general assistance to Executive Director and staff. Step in as needed in all areas of museum practice: exhibit curation, event planning and management, educational programming and planning, ticketing, marketing, donor stewardship, custodial, and financial tasks. Manage funds from a wide range of sources totalling over $4 million annually and including: operational state funding, capital improvement funds, Federal agreements, earned revenue, Federal and private grants, donors, and Federal and state allocated legislative funding. Develop, apply for, manage, and report on Federal and private grants, agreements, and other competitive funding sources. Oversee and manage all facilities issues, in coordination with facilities management staff. Manage maintenance work flows, coordinate and negotiate between facilities and museum needs, oversee maintenance and capital improvement budgets and work plans; consult with, select, and manage construction, maintenance, and landscaping contractors. Direct and train staff in State policies and procedures to include procurement, purchasing, scheduling, and understanding and complying with a wide range of State, department, and museum practices, policies, and guidelines. Coordinate NAGPRA and archaeological Tribal consultation. Support and coordinate evaluation, education, and grant-funded projects. Serve as HR liaison for a staff of 25. Serve on education, NAGPRA, marketing, programming, capital improvement, and exhibit committees.
