I am an accomplished attorney and compliance officer with extensive experience advising investment advisers, investment companies, and broker-dealers. My background includes government service—such as roles at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission—as well as experience at a global law firm and leading financial institutions.I possess broad knowledge of the federal securities laws and the regulatory frameworks governing the investment management industry, including the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. I have served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for a registered investment adviser, Chief Legal Officer for multiple closed-end funds, and adviser to the boards of a fund complex with more than 100 funds, overseeing governance and compliance processes.My compliance experience includes designing and implementing systems to ensure adherence to U.S. regulatory requirements, as well as supporting the launch of new business initiatives. I also provide training to senior business leaders on regulatory obligations and their practical application.In both legal and compliance roles, I have partnered with cross-functional teams to support new initiatives while protecting organizational interests. My broader experience includes leading and participating in regulatory exams, preparing regulatory filings, drafting and negotiating agreements, and advising on closed-end funds, interval funds, and insurance products.I am passionate about helping organizations grow responsibly and achieve strategic goals while maintaining a strong legal and compliance foundation.
