About Eliot C. Heher

Eliot Heher is the founder of Square Knot Health, which offers a new approach to chronic kidney disease management through a \'transplant first\' philosophy, which aims to increase living donor transplant while employing the goal of future transplant to empower patients with kidney failure to achieve better health. Eliot is also a Transplant Nephrologist at the University of Massachusetts. Previously, Eliot served as Medical Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard Medical School) kidney transplant program, which doubled in size under his leadership and became a leading program nationally. He has won and was nominated for numerous awards at Mass General including the Nathaniel Bowditch Award for Quality Improvement and Cost Reduction, Brian A. McGovern Award for Clinical Excellence, Renal Physician of the Year, Samuel O. Thier for Excellence in Teaching, and others. He was a Boston Magazine \'Best Doctor\' in 2019. Using his background as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at Penn Med / Wharton, and his experience in the health insurance industry, Eliot was the co-founder of what is now known as GeoBlue, which is among the largest and innovative international health insurance providers in the U.S. He is the co-inventor of a U.S. Patent focused on electronic physician appointment scheduling. Eliot was educated at Harvard College, Harvard Medical School, and the Wharton School. He completed his medical training in internal medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and his nephrology training at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham & Women\'s Hospital.
