About Eli Murphy
Mechanical engineering student at Washington University in St. Louis (Class of 2028) with a minor in aerospace engineering. My focus areas are propulsion systems, structural design, and aerospace manufacturing. I\'ve had the opportunity to work at Sikorsky Aircraft, a Lockheed Martin company, as a propulsion engineering intern on the CH-53K King Stallion, supporting fuel system design, engineering changes in CATIA/3DExperience, and supplier collaboration. I\'m returning this summer for the Black Hawk program. On campus, I\'m a teaching assistant for the Machine Shop course and hold leadership roles in WURocketry and the WashU VTOL design team, where I work across CAD, FEA, material selection, and hands-on fabrication. Outside of engineering, I served as Professional Outreach Committee Chairman on the Engineering Student Council and am an active member of Theta Xi fraternity. I\'m also a certified Firefighter 1 through the Connecticut Fire Academy. I\'m always open to connecting with others in aerospace, defense, and engineering. Feel free to reach out!
