I am driven by the belief that leadership is less about titles and more about building bridges: connecting people, communities, and ideas where division exists. Growing up biracial and navigating family instability, addiction, and systemic inequities, I learned early that resilience and resourcefulness are essential to thriving in challenging environments. These experiences sparked my passion for justice, equity, and advocacy.Through high school, I channeled this passion into action. As Diversity Commissioner and a member of the Student Government, I organized cultural events, helped revive the Student Equity Committee, and trained younger leaders, creating spaces for dialogue and inclusion across socioeconomic and racial lines. In my church’s Kids’ Ministry, I began as an assistant and grew into designing curricula and mentoring children; these experiences taught me the value of empathy, mentorship, and consistent leadership. I also gained real-world legal experience by supporting a Law Office Study Program, researching accessibility, and helping under-resourced students explore legal careers.Academically, my curiosity is fueled by questions about how policies, laws, and social systems shape opportunities and communities. I am drawn to political science, sociology, history, and public policy because they offer tools to understand and reform inequities, from local schools to national systems. My personal experiences, combined with leadership and community engagement, have shaped me into a resilient, driven, and capable individual ready to contribute thoughtfully and meaningfully to the communities I join.I aim to continue using my voice, experiences, and skills to bridge divides, create opportunities, and ensure that systems work for all members of society.
