About Elijah Hunt

Hello, my name is Elijah. I was raised in Erie Pennsylvania. I attend Penn State- Erie and am currently studying as a third-year mechanical engineer. My first year I was not as involved, however, I finished in the top 30% of all students at Behrend, making me eligible to join the Lambda Sigma Honors Society. I spent my second year working on my social and leadership skills by becoming the social committee president within Lambda Sigma. I conducted, organized, and planned all our social events with my committee. I am also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). This course taught me how to become a better leader and create a plan of action when working towards lifelong goals. The summer of 2024, I started my first engineering internship at Electric Materials. This position allowed me to exercise my leadership skills within an unfamiliar environment. I have learned how to work with all personalities while communicating complex ideas. I have also learned about various material manufacturing processes and management systems. I have had the opportunity to pick up new technical skills and use them to reconstruct processes with the intent of improving performance, costs, and productivity. Due to my experiences within my first two years of school, I reached for new leadership positions. I am currently a lab instructor, a Behrend Engineering Ambassador (BEA), and a volunteer high school wrestling coach. I sought out these positions because I have realized that I do have a passion for leadership and helping others reach their goals. I enjoy being the person others can look to for advice and I try my absolute best to advise others. I also picked up these roles because they force me learn and overcome new challenges. I enjoy challenges and opportunities to develop myself as an individual. For the future, I am looking for more opportunities learn more about the management and operations side of a business, entrepreneurial skills, and secondary streams of income. I am honestly looking for like-minded individuals with similar interests, looking to make impactful changes, not only in their lives, but others as well. Years down the road, I see myself becoming a CEO or owner leading a corporation to design and develop the future. I want to be impactful.
