I am a seasoned Engineering Leader with 13 years of experience in laboratory automation, software and informatics spanning molecular biology, NGS, human iPSC culture/differentiation/screening, analytical assays for biologic/gene therapies, and genome engineering. I enjoy building high-performing automation and software teams that serve as the \'glue\' between the science, the lab, and digital. I have developed and deployed small and large automation/software platforms across discovery, research, process & analytical development, driving the science, operational excellence, and improvement throughout. I have lived on the cutting edge throughout my whole career, building both first-in-class and best-in-class automation/software platforms, in close partnership with industry vendors. Whether it’s a small robot, integrated platform, data pipeline, LIMS, or novel piece of scientific instrumentation, I firmly believe that the user experience has to be a first principle; whether it’s for an internal scientist or the company’s customers, my teams always frame everything we build as a Product.I strongly believe that automation in the lab is much more than understanding how to use a robot to move samples and liquids. I build cross-functional teams that write front-end and back-end code running on-prem and in the cloud, while collaborating with data engineering, IT security, and AI/ML teams to deliver a truly transformational product for the scientist.
