As part of the Technology Risk group within the Assurance practice, I help clients build trust and resilience by strengthening IT controls, enhancing risk management capabilities, and supporting high‑quality financial reporting.Tech Risk | IT Audit | ITGCs | ITACs | SOX | SOCR | Risk & ControlsCore Responsibilities• Deliver IT‑focused procedures supporting financial statement audits, including evaluation of IT General Controls (ITGCs), automated controls, system configurations, and data processing integrity.• Participate in SOC 1 reporting engagements, enabling service organizations to demonstrate security, availability, confidentiality, and operational integrity.• Collaborate with engagement teams to develop risk assessments, scopes, work programs, and timelines that ensure high‑quality, on‑time client delivery.• Maintain strong client relationships by managing expectations around deliverables, value, and timelines, supported by clear and consistent communication.• Leverage EY’s global methodologies, emerging technologies, and quality frameworks to deliver trusted and consistent assurance services.Early Contributions & Focus Areas• Bringing multi‑jurisdictional experience from Eastern Africa, the U.S, and the Caribbean to support Canadian clients with SOX compliance, SOC audits, and IT controls maturity initiatives.• Applying expertise across financial services, life sciences, and technology environments to strengthen IT risk management programs for organizations throughout Western Canada.• Contributing to EY’s culture of high‑performing, inclusive teams through knowledge sharing, coaching junior staff, and promoting consistent quality, integrity, and excellence across engagements.
