About Eli Levine
Versatile, experienced leader with demonstrated strategic and operational results overseeing the federal government’s leading industrial sustainability technical assistance and leadership initiative. With 10+ years of experience driving corporate climate partnerships and innovation programs, I have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful energy management, decarbonization, and water and waste reduction programs. My program, Better Plants, has helped our growing list of 250+ companies and organizations achieve over $8B and 1 QBTu in cumulative energy cost savings. I help leading companies shape and share their sustainability leadership stories. I have experience leading mission-driven, high-impact initiatives at the local, national and international levels and in developing new approaches for addressing pressing climate policy challenges. As a thought leader and subject matter expert in the areas of corporate sustainability, strategic energy management, renewables and energy efficiency, I am adept at navigating diverse stakeholders through complex change while balancing strategic priorities. Highly skilled in Policy Analysis, stakeholder engagement, sustainability reporting, coalition building, community engagement and public speaking. Prior to leading Better Plants, I was the Director of the Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative, a Department-wide strategic commitment to enhancing U.S. manufacturing competitiveness while advancing the nation\'s energy goals, boosting the economy, and contributing to energy security. I served in the Obama White House at the Council on Environmental Quality and the Office of Management and Budget, supporting highly visible and politically sensitive projects and initiatives around energy, environment and conservation policy. I helped stand up the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E), a disruptive new agency investing in game-changing energy innovation. I have a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a BA from Cornell University. I am a Certified Energy Manager and a Certified Renewable Energy Professional from the Association of Energy Engineers and have a Certification in Corporate Sustainability from NYU’s Stern School of Business. I’m currently studying Financing and Deploying Clean Energy at Yale University.
