I am currently immersed in the \"Citizen Science Innovative Methods for the Biodiversity Assessment of Marine Environments\" PhD program at Politecnico di Milano. My research focuses on assessing the distribution and presence/absence of cetaceans in the Atlantic Oceans and the Mediterranean Sea, utilizing the cutting-edge method of environmental DNA (eDNA).This innovative approach involves harnessing the power of citizen science to gather valuable data and insights. By engaging the community in data collection, we aim to enhance our understanding of the marine environment and contribute to more effective biodiversity assessments. I am enthusiastic about the potential of eDNA and citizen science to revolutionize our knowledge of cetacean populations and support marine conservation efforts.
