The future is already built – we just need to preserve it. As an architect, I’ve spent over 8 years immersed in the full life cycle of buildings – from the first spark of an idea to the final construction detail. Along the way, I became fluent in BIM, specialized in DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) certification and deepened my focus on sustainable design. But where my heart really beats? Circular construction and digital building passports. Because in no other industry do we hold as much power to shift the needle on the climate crisis as we do in construction. I believe that buildings should be designed to be circular – adaptable, reusable and with materials ready for multiple life cycles. We need to stop seeing demolition as the end and start seeing it as the beginning of something better. Let’s preserve what we have, rethink how we build and create systems that make circularity the new normal.
