About Elena Rocchi
Elena Rocchi, PhD.Clinical Prof | Barrett Honors College Faculty Advisor | Affiliate Faculty Interplanetary Initiative | Affiliate Faculty Biomimicry Center | 2020 AIA AZ Educator of the Year. 2014/15 Teaching Fellow at Taliesin Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. Elena Rocchi’s equal bodies of expertise are combined in dynamic engagement. She holds a PhD in Design, Environments, and the Arts from ASU, an MArch in Theory and History of Architecture from Esarq, Barcelona, Spain, 2013, and an MArch in Architecture, History, and Restoration from La Sapienza, Rome, Italy, 1994. Through a continuous Research and Teaching Project, Elena examines the Expanded field of architecture, interior design, and the interactive qualities of placemaking to promote the study of Emerging New IN-Typologies in Contemporary Design.Elena Rocchi worked for Miralles Tagliabue EMBT Associated Architects in Barcelona from 1995 until 2008 as a Designer and Project Office Director. Her design work emphasizes rehabilitation of existing structures to promote Contemporary Reuse, New Rituals, and Innovation in the production of Traditional Materials.Her Artwork was exhibited at the Biennale of Venice, Italian Pavilion in Turin in 2012, and at the Art Fair “Arco” in Madrid in 2012 as an Artist in Residency at NIROX Foundation in Johannesburg in August/September 2012.
